Why do we live in a world that has people who speak viciously of one another?

Have they not read, heard and understood the ayat of the Qur’an:

…and do not spy upon one another, and neither allow your­selves to speak ill of one another behind your backs. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? Nay, you would loathe it!” (49:12)

Let us not become those have eyes, ears and hearts but do not use them.

And most certainly have We destined for hell many of the invisible beings and men who have hearts with which they fail to grasp the truth, and eyes with which they fail to see, and ears with which they fail to hear… (7:179)
